The Devoncourt Resort & Apartments (formerly Devoncourt Hotel) are ideally situated for holiday fulfilment all year round. The resort stands in four acres of mature, landscaped, subtropical gardens sloping gently towards the sea and overlooking two miles of golden sandy beaches. The Devoncourt comprises of 54 bedrooms and suites with one and two bedroom apartments accommodating four or six people respectively, many with sea views, balconies, bathrooms and kitchenettes. You will find you are very close to the town centre and the beautiful beach with it's golden sands as well as the railway station, bus station and a taxi rank. All are just within a couple of minutes walk away. There is a strong community vibe in our pretty seaside town and the local park is another popular spot, again within easy walking distance. Here you can relax and see the famous black swans of Dawlish. Built in 1633, the Railway Inn is one of the oldest pubs in Dawlish and can be found on one of the town's oldest streets. The bar, as well as being very friendly, is also rather quirky and atmospheric. We have traditional pub games and a wide range of beers and wines. The Railway welcomes dogs and is family friendly. During your stay we can offer you a good selection of excellent value food to enjoy in the relaxed atmosphere of our bar. We have three guest rooms which although rather basic and a little tired looking are very clean and tidy provide you with a cheap, no frills option. The house, built in 1812, is a fine regency rectory in the heart of the friendly Devon village of Kenton, which boasts not only a fine local pub but two marvellous restaurants and is the location of Powderham Castle, the seat of the Earl of Devon. Stay with us and you will be in striking distance of the fine old city of Exeter, the birdlife of the Exe Estuary and the picturesque coastal resorts of Dawlish and Teignmouth - all reachable by regular buses. A short drive and you may sample the wild spaces of Dartmoor or the charming towns of Totnes, Dartington and Dartmouth. The house is set in its own grounds, in which there is ample parking space. As we offer only two rooms for bed and breakfast, you can expect individual service and a quiet stay: not the boarding house experience! The Amethyst Room has a king bed, the Camomile Room can be either king or twin. Each room has a flat screen TV with FreeView, free Wi-Fi wireless internet, a hair dryer, and a hospitality tray with tea, coffee and biscuits. Both rooms have en-suite shower rooms with washbasin and WC. Complementary shampoo, soap and shower gel are provided. Breakfast starts with a buffet of fruit juice, cereal, fruit compote and yoghurt, followed by a full English or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, or something on toast. Our rooms are £85 per night for two people, or £65 per night single occupancy. Breakfast is included. Normal arrival time is between 4.00pm and 5.30pm.
