Kent are one of cricket's oldest county organisations, formally constituted in 1842. The Spitfires have a rich history and maintain strong links with Canterbury and outgrounds across the county.

About the ground
Kent's Canterbury home is famous for the lime tree that once stood inside the boundary. The original tree was damaged in 2005 and a replacement was planted nearby.
